Stockholm, 1998, saw members of Katatonia, Opeth and Edge Of Sanity join forces to form a really, really old-school death metal band. They chose the name Bloodbath and their first EP arrived in 2000. The band quickly became connoisseurs' faves, and all but mythological since they hardly ever performed live. Between 2002-2008 Bloodbath released three albums with Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) and Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy, Pain), respectively, on vocals. 2014 saw the eventual arrival of album number four, ”Grand morbid funeral”, sensationally introducing Nick Holmes (Paradise Lost) as the new singer. In addition, Bloodbath is now coming to SRF 2015 – needless to say, it will be their only Swedish appearance.
