The UK's Carcass have helped shape the history of extreme metal twice. First, co-creating grindcore on their first albums "Reek of putrefaction" (1988) and "Symphonies of sickness" (1989). Second, co-creating melodic death metal on "Heartwork" (1993). Since the band's jubilant return in 2007, after an eleven year split, they have added two more acclaimed albums to their seven album catalogue, but in the now, the priority for bassist/singer Jeff Walker, guitarist Bill Steer and the others, is to set the stages of the world alight.
