Often labeled Sweden's first heavy metal band, Heavy Load debuted in 1978 and became an international name with the muscular riffs and Viking themes on primarily "Death or glory" (1982) and "Stronger than evil" (1983). In 1985 Heavy Load disbanded, but their legend grew. Their reunion show at SRF 2018 was one of the most highly anticipated that year. Now they return to SRF on the strength of a universally praised comeback album, "Riders of the ancient storm" (2023).
