One of the biggest bands of folk metal comes from the Faroes. Týr debuted in 2002 and their sound is partly based on great technical chops, partly on a genuine connection with the Norse roots that shape their compositions. Their nine studio album include such classics as "Ragnarok" (2006), "By the light of the Northern Star" (2009) and "Hel" (2019), and the new album "Battle ballads" introduce an impressive load of future live faves to add to their collection.
