Sweden's Avatarium were formed by Candlemass legend Leif Edling in 2013. Their melodic doom metal was notable for Jennie-Ann Smih's vocals and Marcus Jidell's guitar playing. When Edling left the band for health reasons after three albums, the band took a more Gothic-melodic path under Smith's and Jidell's leadership. Which only made their fanbase larger. With their two most recent albums "The fire I long for" (2019) and "Death, where is your sting (2022), Avatarium have clearly come into their own with a bright future ahead.
