When At the Gates split up (for the time being) in 1996, The Haunted rose from their ashes. The new band's debut "The Haunted" (1998) instantly became a modern thrash metal classic. Subsequent efforts have shown the Swedes' ability to vary themselves and expand the horizons of brutal metal: "The Haunted made me do it" (2000), "The dead eye" (2011) and most recently "Strength in numbers" (2017) are just some of their many classic albums. In addition to working on album number nine, The Haunted also make a welcome return to the live scene, a platform where they have always excelled.
