The debut from UK's the Darkness, "Permission to land", became a global sensation in 2003. Hard rock spiced with glam both of the 70s' and 80s' variety, with crazy humor to boot. Sadly, the band dissolved after just one more album. However, 2011 saw them return, and their subsequent albums - most recently the excellent 2021 effort "Motorheart" - have reaffirmed the band's position as one of the most original in hard rock today. And Justin Hawkin remains a unique frontman.
