In their native Brazil they are titans, internationally they are rightfully lauded as one of the major pioneering acts of power metal. Angra's first two albums "Angels cry" (1993) and "Holy land" (1996) became genre-defining classics, combining metal, classical music and South American rhythms. Ever since then they have, on a discography including nine studio albums, successfully maintained their position as one of the leading bands in melodic metal. The fact that the name of their singer since 2013 is Fabio Lione (ex-Rhapsody, Kamelot) certainly doesn't hurt.
