Groovy rhythm'n'blues, filthy garage rock, raw blues and sticky pop choruses. That is the foundation on which the career of Swedish rock institution Wilmer X rests. A musical journey that will see its 40th anniversary in 2018.
"We play rock in the most narrow-minded and traditional way possible. It is all we know, and it is all we want to do". A classic quote by front man Nisse Hellberg that Wilmer X has certainly lived by throughout the years.
The band's last concert, seven years ago, was their 999th show ever. Naturally, that's no way to end the count, so in time for their 40th anniversary Wilmer X will play their 1000th show ever, at Sweden Rock Festival on Saturday, June 9th. The show will be followed by a tour of Sweden. The band still sports their classic line-up of Nisse Hellberg, Jalle Lorensson, Thomas Holst and Sticky Bomb.
