WELCOME TO SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL, June 7-10 2023

This summer we have the pleasure of welcoming Ukrainian band Jinjer to Sweden Rock Festival for the first time!   Jinjer have been called both "metalcore" and "djent", but perhaps they might best be described as "progressive metal". Jinjer's sound is distinguished by the alternations between brutal metal and, for instance, jazz, soul and reggae. Not to mention Tatiana Shmailyuk handling clean singing and growling with the same brilliance.   Since their 2014 debut, and not least "King of everything", featuring the classic "Pisces", in 2016, Jinjer have grown into one of the most talked-about metal bands of our time. In 2021 came their fourth album "Wallflowers", and became just as cherished as its predecessors.    Jinjer will play Sweden Rock Festival on Wednesday June 7th. 

LITA FORD, RAISED FIST, KAMELOT, DEATHSTARS, MAMMOTH WVH, BRITISH LION, CONEY HATCH, MARDUK, TRIBULATION, CROWNE, JODDLA MED SIV, SKYND, PERFECT PLAN, SELF DECEPTION, GRIMNER, DEFLESHED and NAKKENKNAEKKER will all play Sweden Rock Festival this summer!   Lita Ford made a name for herself in The Runaways in the 70's and has since had a long and highly successful solo career. Passport problems threw a wrench into the works on Lita's last visit seven years ago, but this time we are hopeful that all her co-musicians will be on stage to deliver the great melodic hard rock show Lita and her band are known for.   The other new additions to the line-up are Swedish hardcore giants Raised Fist , epic, melodic metal legends Kamelot , Swedish industrial metal heads Deathstars , Wolfgang Van Halen's modern radio rock band Mammoth WVH , Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris' pub rock band British Lion , Canadian cult melodic hard rockers Coney Hatch , Swedish black metal legends Marduk , progressive meta

Children of the Sün, Dahlia, Karmanjakah, Liar Thief Bandit, Modesty, Running Cooper, Sanctrum and The Overthrone - that's the names of this year's Swedish Nemis bands that will play Sweden Rock Festival this coming summer.   Nemis (New Music In Sweden) is Studiefra?mjandet's live stage for unsigned artists and new and upcoming Swedish music. Nemis at Sweden Rock has a long tradition - this will be the 16th year when eight slots are filled by Nemis bands.   Several hundred bands applied to play Nemis this year, and the selection process has been focused on finding exciting new artists and on keeping the stage as gender equal as possible.Geographically the bands come from Skåne in the South all the way to Östersund in the North.    The Nemis acts will be scheduled for Thursday the 8th of June.    Read all about the Nemis-bands on our artist page  

With just over four months remaining, we are happy to announce another 13 acts for this summer's festival:   Alter Bridge , fronted by singer Myles Kennedy, have received accolades in droves for their latest album "Pawns & kings", released in October. Six years after their last visit to Sweden Rock, the American alternative metal band is set to return to Sölvesborg in June!   Also confirmed for this summer's festival are American prog metal masters Symphony X , melodic hard rockers and Sweden Rock debutants Wig Wam from Norway, alternative Canadian metal band Spiritbox , Brazilian melodic metalsters Angra , Swedish death metal veterans Grave , Danish blues phenomenon Thorbjörn Risager and The Black Tornado , Norwegian alternative prog rockers Spidergawd , British modern metal outfit Employed To Serve , Swedish heavy/speed metal heads Enforcer , equally Swedish power metal band Bloodbound , British metal band The Raven Age and the Swedish melodic metal band Tungsten .     You can fi

There are still quite a lot of bands left to announce for the coming festival, but to tie you over to the next bundle announcement we are happy to let you know that Billy Gibbons & the BFGs are confirmed to play on Saturday June 10th.    Being the guitarist and singer of ZZ Top since 1969, Billy Gibbons is one of the true legends of rock. In recent times, he is also a prominent solo artist. The Caribbean-flavored album "Perfectamundo" (2015), "Big bad blues" (2018) - the title says it all - and "Hardware" (2021) have all been praised by fans and critics alike.    In 2023, Billy and his band - including none other than Matt Sorum (ex-Guns N' Roses, The Cult and Velvet Revolver) on drums and Austin Hanks on guitar, - will be doing a few select European shows, and we're happy to announce that SRF is one of those lucky chosen few.   More bands to be announced shortly!   For all so-far confirmed bands, check this link out  

Just in time for Christmas, we are happy to announce another 13 acts: DEEP PURPLE, EUROPE, AIRBOURNE, WOLFMOTHER, SKID ROW, U.D.O., MONSTER MAGNET, TNT, MYRATH, MIKE TRAMP, CHRISTONE KINGFISH INGRAM, VENDED and CHEZ KANE.   For the first time in 17 years, one of the truly pioneering bands of the hard rock genre are returning to Sweden Rock: Deep Purple became legendary in the 70's, made a sensational comeback in the 80's and have enjoyed another renaissance in later years thanks to both their powerful live performances and strong albums like "Whoosh!" (2020). This summer they will finally be back in Sölvesborg!   Europe made their long awaited comeback at SRF 2004 and recorded a magical concert film at the 2013 festival. Ten years on, it is once again time for the Sweden Rock audience to enjoy later fan favourites as well as classics like "Rock the night", "Seven doors hotel", "Carrie", "Superstitious", "Cherokee" and, of course, that famous song with the keyboard intro...   Also confi

Eight more acts have been added to this summer's Sweden Rock Festival line-up!   The new additions are American thrash legends Testament , the highly requested Gothenburg metal band Avatar , the classic Swedish punk/rock'n'rollers Sator , red hot party rockers Thundermother who have just finished a US tour with the Scorpions, British prog metal institution Threshold who will be celebrating their 30th anniversary, occult retro rockers Green Lung and the two new, Swedish rock hopes Hot Breath and Ström .   Previously confirmed acts for the festival are Iron Maiden, Ghost, Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Pantera, Gojira, Behemoth and Clutch.   Another 76 bands are to be announced!

In late August, it was announced that one of the biggest and most important bands in metal history, Pantera , is set to reform for the band's first tour in more than 20 years. It has now been confirmed that Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown will be bringing their Pantera to this summer's Sweden Rock Festival! This will be Pantera's only show in Sweden on this run.   Also confirmed for this summer's festival are French, progressive metal band Gojira , Polish extreme metal legends Behemoth and the American rock/metal band Clutch .    Previously confirmed acts for the festival are Iron Maiden, Ghost, Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard. Another 84 bands are to be announced.
