Canada's Spiritbox have been described as "post-metalcore", and indeed, singer Courtney LaPlante have emphasized the importance of progress to keep metalcore relevant as a genre. In 2016, LaPlante and husband/guitarist Mike Stringer left Iwrestledabearonce to do their own thing - and did it so well that their debut album "Eternal blue" (2021) became a US chart success. In 2022, this was followed by the third EP "Rotoscope", featuring prominent electronic flavoring: something that, just like LaPlante's vocal chops, makes Spiritbox clearly stand out from the crowd.
