Månegarm, formed in 1995, were pioneers of folk metal with native lyrics - Swedish ones in their case. Their early catalogue, arguably culminating on "Vredens tid" (Age of wrath, 2005), are genre classics praised by black metal fans as well. Following a period of lineup changes and musical experiences not universally acclaimed, Månegarm once more hold a steady lineup and their ninth album "Fornaldarsagor" (Tales from an ancient age, 2019) has re-established them as Swedish Viking metal titans.
