Rock Stage is now Lemmy Stage

lemmy_0.jpgMotörhead remain one of the most important and iconic bands in rock history. They played Sweden Rock Festival no less than eight times and have sometimes been referred to as the "house band" of the festival. Many of us in the festival management team got to know front man Lemmy Kilmister, his band mates and their crew personally over the years and it was with great sadness we learned of Lemmy's passing in December.
To honour his memory, we are changing the name of the stage where Motörhead always played when they were in Sölvesborg. With the blessings of surviving Motörhead members Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee as well as the band's management, the stage that until now has been known as Rock Stage will this summer be called Lemmy Stage.

Since Lemmy's passing, Phil and Mikkey have urged Motörhead fans to celebrate his life by enjoying his music and raising a glass in his honour instead of mourning. Although everyone working with the festival will have to hold off the glass-raising until after the festival weekend, we think this is an excellent idea, so we will be showing Motörhead and Lemmy clips on the Lemmy Stage video screens between concerts throughout the festival.
As we wrote in December: rest in peace, Lemmy. And thanks for everything.

Marcel Jacob (1964-2009) who would've turned 60 this year, was Talisman's bassist and undisputed leader. In his honor, the band's music will be performed by his surviving bandmates - singer Jeff Scott Soto, guitarist Fredrik Åkesson and drummer Jamie Borger. Bassist Johan Niemann (Evergrey) completes the lineup, in a way that guarantees that classics like "I'll be waiting", "Mysterious" and "Colour my XTC" will be played in a way worthy of one of Sweden's greatest hard rock bands ever. Right now, there's...

TWIN TEMPLE out, LUCIFER in! Unfortunately, we have to announce that TWIN TEMPLE is canceling their performance at Sweden Rock Festival 2024. At the same time, we are pleased to announce that they will be replaced by LUCIFER! Heavy retro rockers Lucifer were formed by German singer Johanna Sadonis and debut album "Lucifer I" arrived in 2015. Then Sadonis teamed up with songwriting partner and drummer Nicke Andersson (Hellacopters, ex-Entombed) and moved the band to Stockholm. Lucifer's sound is based on analogue arrangements, predominantly 70s' influences, and occult overtones. Every album has reinformed their positions as rising stars on the scene, a development likely to continue...
